Digging the composition and scaling of this one. Also, a giant smiling minifigure is hilarious in general.

    February 21, 2011 at 1:13 pm

  7. lol, love this. you really doing this everyday? That takes dedication.

    February 21, 2011 at 1:48 pm

    • Not everyday – some days I take a few photos and then just post one per day. My life is a little different now than it was the first year I did this. But, as long as I can post 1 per day, I’m happy.
Year 1, I took a new photo every single day. It was a true, honest to god, 365. So since I’ve already accomplished that, I feel I’ve earned the privilege of cheating a little🙂

      February 21, 2011 at 3:15 pm

      • Great work and deserved “cheat”. And Freshly Pressed again! I love Legos and my niece and nephew have the ability to use their imagination b/c of them. In a world of technology, I still find them playing Legos almost anytime I call or visit! Long Live Legos!

  8. “The residents of Legoville continued their lives, oblivious to the threat towering over them.”

    February 21, 2011 at 2:38 pm

    • Agreed..except I think that one in the back right knows something is amiss. He looks scared out of his — well, plastic, I guess?
      😉

      March 15, 2011 at 8:52 am

      • It is his lead that they will follow. But then again, note the giant’s smile. Maybe he just wants to play the most terrifying game of peekaboo ever.

  9. KEGAN

OMG IT’S GOD ZILLA IN LEGO FORM

    February 21, 2011 at 4:13 pm

  10. legoville was going smooth until legozilla came along

    February 21, 2011 at 4:43 pm

  11. I enjoy the heck out of this whole project, and today’s is especially genius, but I have to say, the two things that impress me most about your work: your ability to suggest an entire narrative with a single image, and your very fine attention to detail! Anyone else would have set this shot up thinking only about the Big Guy in the background, but you have been so careful with this that you’re thinking about the facial expressions on every other character in the shot. That’s the mark of an artist, man, and it’s awesome.

    February 22, 2011 at 3:50 am

  12. Great pic.. looks quite real! I missed the “big” lego until I read the comments.

    February 22, 2011 at 11:48 am

  24. I have been a Lego fan since I was a child, I still remember building an entire city with about 3 houses, hospital, fire station and so much more- it was the good old times with my cousins…Lego is the best you can give a child!

    March 15, 2011 at 9:49 am

    • Once I built an eleven story building with only six-hundred or so LEGOs–that was when I had only one LEGO set, so I made it stretch faaar!

      March 15, 2011 at 3:58 pm

  25. I’m gonna have to ask you to pull over…

  36. Very Very Cool!

    March 15, 2011 at 12:38 pm

  37. Hah! I’m trying to figure out the story of this.

“Just a normal day at Lego City. The commoners are going about their day, when suddenly, Leo the Giant, watches in awe as the little people have no idea of his presence…”

And yes, I see the Batman lego way in the back!

    March 15, 2011 at 1:19 pm

  38. Hello,

I volunteered for the FLL (First Lego League) in Baltimore, MD. just two weeks ago and this looks like something that should have been posted on the walls.

If you haven’t ever heard of the FLL, you seem like someone who would be interested… I recommend you look it up and possibly introduce yourself and your amazing skill, maybe you’ll be able to start something with those kids!🙂

  40. FUN!
Does Lego actually have a hotel kit? That’s one we don’t have.

    March 15, 2011 at 2:52 pm

  41. Haahaa! I like the guy in the back who’s scared-looking–and is a girl looking at him? She must wonder what he’s about, but when she sees monster minifigure, she’ll know.

    March 15, 2011 at 3:56 pm

  42. Amazing. Who’s the celebrity? Man. This is so tedious. Goodluck!!!!🙂
